Hedgehogs and Hairy Caterpillars

This week in Forest School, Nursery went on a minibeast hunt. They explored our wildlife area and the wildflowers surrounding our outdoor classroom and found plenty of very friendly minibeasts.

What they were not expecting to see was a hedgehog slowly making his way across our school field! It is unusual to see a hedgehog in the day, as one of the nursery children explained they are nocturnal creatures. So, a little concerned, we put him safely into our hedgehog home with some water by a hedge and fingers crossed he will be ok.
