Miniature Anderson Shelters

To link in with their World War 2 topic, Year 6B were set a challenge; to create a miniature Anderson shelter using sticks and other natural materials. The shelter had to be hollow and strong enough to withstand a WW2 Bomb attack, in the miniature sense of course. Each shelter was tested for strength by placing a 500g weight on top.

The pupils’ understanding and knowledge of World War 2 was clear; they worked extremely hard as teams and created some amazing structures…
