Flowers under the Microscope

This week as part of their ‘pollination’ topic, Year 3H have been investigating flowers under a microscope.

The children worked in small teams collecting daisies and dandelions from the school field and inspecting them closely using miniature, light up microscopes.

The children learnt how to focus a microscope and were amazed when they were able to see tiny hairs on stems and pollen on stamens.

The children also took part in the daisy chain challenge; creating the longest daisy chain in their teams.
