Mexican Weaving

This week in Forest School Year 5HC continued perfecting their weaving skills and created some amazing Mexican weaving patterns.

A skill that can be taught to most age groups. Simply tie to sticks together using yarn to create a cross. Then using different coloured yarn, weave through the sticks, pulling tightly, to create these beautiful weaving patterns.

Our weaving sessions over the past few weeks have taught the pupils how to tie knots tightly and securely, how to weave through sticks and how to tie a knot at the end of a piece of work. These skills are something the pupils struggled with at the beginning of the Forest School sessions but they are becoming much more confident as the weeks have progressed. Well done Year 5HC!
