Forest School: Mini Dens, Muddy Faces and Bugs Galore! (Year 5HC)

Today, Year 5 were given the opportunity to choose their activity and who they would like to work with. In previous weeks activities have been set and children put into groups. Giving them the freedom to choose but still with some structure to the activities worked really well. It gave the pupils the space to make their own choices but they were able to ask others for help and advice as well.

Their choices this week included…

  • Mini Den Building:

One pupil made a gate from sticks, stepping stones made from leaves, a see saw made from a twig and two leaves, and a washing line made from a very fine twig with leaves threaded on for clothes…

  • Muddy Faces:

Pupils loved making muddy faces from mud and other natural materials…

  • Bug Hunting…
