The RSPB’s Big School Birdwatch

The children in Year 4L are currently taking part in the world’s largest wildlife survey; the RSPB’s Big Schools’ Birdwatch.

What is the RSPB Big School Birdwatch?

This is the world’s largest wildlife survey and is a great educational activity to get children closer to nature. For one hour, the children identify as many birds as possible in the school grounds, submit their results to the RSPB and receive a certificate for taking part.

Who can take part?

Anyone can take part in the RSPB’s Big School Birdwatch or the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch which can be done at home. Simply register online at RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.

When does it all happen?

28th – 30th January 2017

How is Langdale supporting the Big School Birdwatch?

The children in Year 4L at Langdale are taking part in plenty of bird-related activities to help them to identify birds in Britain, creating bird food to tempt the birds into our wildlife area and learning how to be a successful birdwatcher. The children in Year 4L will then complete the survey on 30th January 2017.
